My name is Maya. I’m a composer of orchestral, electronic and hybrid music. I write minimal atmospheric music with a focus on melody and timbre. Experimentation and exploration are important factors of the composition process. My creative process consists thorough research to find the timbres and style relevant to the project to be able to create a soundtrack that fits well.

My main instrument is piano. Besides that I can play flutes and guitar. Performing my own work means I can add the needed expression not easily possible with virtual instruments. I love collecting instruments from cultures all over the world. After research, I always start writing in notation.

As a kid, I loved playing the guitar. I would write short tunes as well. When I was around 18, I discovered the piano, which quickly developed into a composing tool. In 2017 I started my education Music & Technology, specialising in music composition and interactive audio. I also use programming languages (Python, GDScript, SuperCollider, Max MSP/PD, JavaScript) and middleware (FMod) to enhance my process.
